Following are some handy hints to keep your tyres in ship shape condition.
Tyre Rotation: Gives even wear which results in longer tyre life.
Different vehicles wear their tyres differently, depending on whether they are front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, a ute, a 4WD or a vehicle that carries a lot or a little weight. The best way to look after your tyres and get the best life from them is by regular rotation. Swap the front to the rear and vice-versa will ensure that your tyres will wear more evenly and last longer. We suggest rotating your tyres every 8000-10,000km's travelled. |

Wheel Balancing: Will reduce tyre wear and vibration.
If you are experiencing a vibration or wheel wobble through your steering wheel, then something is probably not right with your tyres and/or wheels.
Normally a vibration means a wheel is out of balance, which could be caused by a weight coming loose. Wobbly wheels at high speed can be potentially unsafe.
A wheel balance should be done with every wheel alignment. Our suggestion for best tyre life would be every 8000-10,000km's travelled.

Wheel Alignment: Fixes steering issues and evens out tyre wear.
Does your vehicle feel like it's pulling to one side or are you getting a vibration through your steering wheel? It could be that your wheel alignment is out. This can be a gradual adjustment just from everyday driving - going into your driveway the same way every day etc. Or it can be caused by an incident, like hitting a gutter or a large pothole.
What is a wheel alignment?
A wheel alignment is the measurement, analysis and adjustment of your vehicle’s steering and suspension angles which ensures that your wheels and tyres are perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other. Then you get the best wear and performance from your tyres.
Our technicians at Dog Tyred can adjust the suspension and steering on your vehicle, so that your wheels are aligned correctly and your tyres will wear evenly and last longer.
A wheel alignment should be carried out whenever you come in for a wheel balance and when you replace your tyres - especially if the old tyres are showing signs of uneven wear.
